The history of Bangladeshi community in Windsor has been started since 1990’s through generating a huge fund for the distressed people of Bangladesh affected by devastating cyclone.
In 1999 December, A group of Bangladeshi Student studying at University of Windsor, first organized cultural program.
In the year 2002 all Bangladeshi residents in Windsor including Students in the University of Windsor organized a cultural program called "Rhidoye Bangladesh".
After that the Windsor Bangladeshis came under a common umbrella with an organizational form under the leadership of a president, general secretary, organizational secretary, and other members in 2003.
In 2004 first Boishakhi program was celebrated and since then it has been running multiple program each year.
BCAWE was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2006.
Final Constitution was passed in 2007.
